In 1960, Bill and Bob Streets opened business as plumbing contractors. As a second generation contractor, Streets, Inc. has grown into a total mechanical contracting firm with a national presence. In 1992 Chris Streets assumed control of the company and changed the operating structure to broaden exposure across the country. Chris had ventured into the Design-Build markets in the early 80's. This experience only solidified his belief that a mechanical contractor should be more intimately involved in the overall process of the design of new buildings.

Traditionally mechanical systems are the most expensive component of a building. Therefore, this became the driving force in promoting the Design-Build approach. Chris's philosophy was "allow the owner to have input into their comfort system."
